J. D. Schraffenberger is professor of English at the University of Northern Iowa and editor of the North American Review. He is responsible for multiple books of poetry, most recently the chapbook Dueling Shovels, co-written with Sean Thomas Dougherty. His other writing has appeared in Best of Brevity, Best Creative Nonfiction, Poetry East, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere.
